1. Kaiser Maximilian Lauf is an international cross-country ski race which is registered with the FIS and takes place over two days on a 60km or 30km course as detailed below:

3. Eligibility
Registration is available to all persons (male or female) who have finished their 18th year (in other words, who were born before 01.01.2000). Every participant agrees by registration that they possess the appropriate level of fitness and that they are not suffering from any physical problems at the start of the KML. Participation in the event is at one’s own risk.
4. Registration
Registration is compulsory and will only be accepted ONLINE via our website: www.kaisermaximilianlauf.com

If a participant is unable to start the race for any reason, the registration fee will not be refunded and it cannot be applied to any races in subsequent years. The ONLINE REGISTRATION closes on January 10th, 2018 at 24.00. LATE REGISTRATION can be made at the race office one day before the race.
Every registration is in a particular name and cannot be given to any other person.
To make a name change, login to the registration system and press “Startin position transfer”. Then enter the name and contact details for the new participant. A name change is possible in the online system until December 31st 2017. And later at the race office.
The organising committee reserves the right to close registrations if the number of registrations exceeds the maximum capacity. Registrations made but not accepted will be refunded in this case!
5. Start Number Distribution
The start number distribution will take place at the race office in the WSC Arena near the start and finish area as follows:

No start number will be distributed outside these times!Every race participant will be given a timing transponder for race timing which must be worn during the race (there is no race timing without a transponder) and which must be returned to the race organisers on reaching the finish line. A fee of € 50, – will be charged if the transponder is not returned at the end of the race!
6. Start Location and Group Classification
Every participant can choose start group appropriate to their ability during registration:
Elite Group – Pro Team Athlete or valid FIS-code
Group 1 – Elite skier (wave 1-3 at Vasaloppet), 120 participants
Group 2 – Good amateurs (wave 4-6 at Vasaloppet), 240 participants
Group 3 – Recreational skiers (wave 7-10 at Vasaloppet), 400 participantsThe race organisers have the right to reserve start places for athletes and for VIPs and to close particular start groups when the maximum number of participants is reached.Access to the start groups opens at 08:00.The distributed numbers are representative to a start group and cannot be changed.
7. Competition Services
– Startgift at the start number distribution
– Wax and pole support during the race
– Bus transportation from Seefeld to the start in Leutasch for the 30km race
– Catering at the finish area and throughout the race
– Shuttle service to the finish area for those unable to complete the distance (Unterleutasch,Kirchplatzl,Oberleutasch)
– Changing, bath and shower facilities in Olympia Sport Centre
– Baggage depot in the start area
– Medical care during the event
– Professional timing
– Pastaparty
8.Time Limits
For safety reasons, the maximum time which a participant is allowed to use for the distance of 60km is 7 hours (finish time 4:00pm). The following time limits are also applicable = last time of passage at the refreshment stations:
– Unterleutasch km 31: last time of passage at 12:30pm
– Kirchplatzl km 41: last time of passage at 1:45pm
– Moos km 46: last time of passage at 2:15pm
Participants who pass these refreshment points at a later time will be stopped by the organising committee and brought back to the finish line by the provided shuttle service. The maximum time for the distance of 30km is 4 hours (finish time 4:00pm).
9. Baggage Depot
The baggage depot is located in the WSC Arena near the start and finish area. After the end of the race, stored bags will be handed back to the participants. The baggage depot of the 30km race starting in Leutasch, will also be located in the WSC Arena near the start and finish area in Seefeld. The cloths will be collected at the start in Leutasch and stored in bags that will be marked with the start number of the participant and transported back to Seefeld. Evidence in form of the race start number is obligatory for collection. The race organisers accept no responsibility or liability for items stored in the baggage depot.
10. Race Technique
Kaiser Maximilian Lauf is run in classic technique on Saturday and in the skating technique on Sunday. It is obligatory to only use the allowed technique on a particular day and technique control will be monitored by race officials and marshals. Breach of rules is a violation of the ICR and can lead to disqualification. The race will be operated according to the International Competition Rules (ICR).
11. Refreshment and Service Stations
There are a numerous of places along the entire course, where food and / or material service is offered by an organized staff.

12. Protest
A protest which is made within 60 minutes of the first crossing of the finish line will be subject to a fee of CHF 100,- will be notified to the race jury and will be treated according to the regulations of the ICR. In the amateur classes, protests can be made up until 48 hours of the last crossing of the finish line, are subject to a fee of € 50,- and will be considered by the jury.
13. Emergency Services & First Aid
The emergency services and first aid personnel organised by the mountain and trail rescue will be available in the start and finish area as well as along the course. Emergency telephone calls should always be made using the number 140 and should contain the following information:

– Location of the accident along the course, note kilometre distance signs
– Type of injury
It is recommended that participants carry a mobile phone during the race, as in certain circumstances these can save lives! The mountain and trail rescue personnel have the right to forbid a race participant to continue if they feel that the health of the participant or of other participants may be endangered.
14. Race Cancellation
50% of the entry fee will be reimbursed if Kaiser Maximilian Lauf O.C.has to cancel the event more than 24h before start. If cancelation is made less than 24h before start, the organizer will have the right to keep paid fees. In case of lack of snow, the organising committee reserves the right to set an alternative course or to change the race date due to unforeseeable circumstances.
15. Use of Personal Data
Every participant agrees to the use and distribution of their data in electronic form by the race organisers and their partners. Additionally, every participant agrees to the use of film and photographic material for internet websites and other PR purposes (for example, in flyers or reports in print media) by the race organisers and their partners.
